New Production of "Triangle" Opens to Raves and Sold-Out Houses

Proud to have caught opening night of a new production of our musical "Triangle” at Broadway Rose Theatre, just outside Portland—and the response was tremendous. It was wonderful to see this wonderful regional theater put their own stamp on the piece and to feel the community embrace its story of love, with young patrons cheering the modern story and older patrons locking into the classic story. And by the end of the show, everyone was standing together for the impressive cast and orchestra.

Don’t believe me, here’s the first paragraph of one of our favorite reviews that came in for the productions:

“If musicals were baseball games, then Broadway Rose Theatre Company just hit the ball out of the park and up to the stars with its astounding production of Triangle. Since it’s theater we’re talking about, though, I’ll simply say this show is an uncommonly beautiful and heartrending work of art, with its trifecta of stellar story, performances and music.” - Oregon Artswatch

The run just finished and Broadway Rose let us know they blew through their ticket goals and the last two weekends were sold out. Bravo to all and thank you for sharing our show with such care. (And if anyone reading this is interested in producing Triangle, check out more info here. We’d love to help you get it on stage.)

Mizer & Moore Nominated for a Second Primetime Emmy Award

We’re Emmy-Nominated!

It seems incredible but it’s true; our song “Maybe Monica” from Season Four of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has been nominated for “Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics” at the 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards.

Thank you so much to the Emmy Music Branch for this incredible honor, particularly to be mentioned alongside such a wickedly talented group of songwriters we admire. Huge shout outs to our glorious vocalist Josh A. Dawson and the magical musical team on Mrs. Maisel (look, we can’t help it with all the M’s), especially Stewart Lerman, Robin Urdang, Sandy Park, Annette Kudrak, and Matt Shapiro; they make us sound so good but also put up with us when we start doing the pony around the studio.

When Amy Sherman-Palladino called us up and said she wanted us to write a song for a young Harry Belafonte, we thought she was punking us. Then we thought she might be a wee bit insane. Now, we think she’s the smartest, most wonderful person in the world. Always.

Maisel Collaborators Release New Holiday Single

We couldn’t be prouder to announce the release of a new song, just in time for this holiday season, “Let Me Carry You This Christmas.” Sung by the incomparable Darius de Haas (the voice of Shy Baldwin on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), this song is dedicated to all who’ve struggled and those who’ve cared for us during this unprecedented year.

As Darius said in an interview with WFMZ, “The holidays can be a great joyous time for many, but it is also the time when many may struggle with loss, loneliness, lack of support, and more. This song was created to persevere in the spirit of the holidays even under the most difficult of circumstances. It honors caregiving heroes, the elderly, those that are ill, and the people we lost during this global pandemic. With all the challenges of 2020, 'Let Me Carry You This Christmas' shines a light on all the emotions of the holiday season while affirming the resilience of our love for one another."

And to top it off, Darius has created the Let Me Carry You initiative where listeners can donate to The Actors Fund and CaringKind, to help support those in need this Christmas.
